Unity and coming together

G’Day from Jerusalem

I have a sense that the Lord has something for Revival SA/AHOPFAN, Lutheran Renewal/Overflow, and all city wide community focused groups/congregations.

1. Building the Kingdom via reconciliation and relationship.

The body of Christ needs to come together in unity more than ever. It is time for barriers and differences to fade and be replaced with genuine relationship. This may mean reconciliation and repentance.

Reconciliation is only the first step as reconciliation becomes cooperation; then cooperation becomes covenant. The Lord wants us in relationship with each other to the same standard as our relationship with Him and the Father.
Leaders need to open up to each other and congregations need to start working together on a regular basis. There are some groups moving in this direction very strongly and others that need to get on board.

Ruth 1:16 But Ruth said: Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God [Yeshua], my God [Yeshua].

2. Real Unity!

In Ephesians 4:3, Paul says that we are to be “diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” The unity of the Spirit is already a fact for believers, but we must be diligent to preserve it. It requires work and time. We all, esp. leaders, need to take time to be together in prayer and fellowship. This is a priority that the Lord wants us to commit to.

We all seem busy but if we don’t recognise the whole body of Christ and relate together we won’t get anywhere. We may not have unity of doctrine, but we MUST have unity of relationship. [There is a basic doctrine we all agree on i.e. the Apostle’s Creed, Nicene Creed etc.]

3. Increase upon increase upon increase!

As we come together there will be an increase of salvations, miracles, and practical impact and transformation on communities and nations.

This increase is based on the working relationships in the body of Christ. Beyond renewal and revival is transformation and the Kingdom of God. We proclaim the gospel of salvation and His Kingdom.

Grace and peace in Jesus name!
